Visual Tree Assessment
-
Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) is a visual tree safety check. This is a method to estimate the risk of trees in terms of:
-
Stability: whether or not the tree falls.
-
Fragility: whether or not to break down the entire tree or parts of it.
-
-
Itresult of this VTA is a classification of the inspected tree into one of the following classes:
-
No Increased Risk (GVR): with these trees the chance of causing damage or injury is virtually non-existent. This does not mean that there is no risk: even trees without visible defects can fall or break.
-
Increased Risk (VR): with these trees there is a real chance of causing damage or injury. Depending on the circumstances, you can then opt for:
-
Further investigation regarding specialist equipment. Based on this result, the trees are placed in the “Attention tree”, “take measures” or “felled” category.
-
Take action so that the tree no longer shows an increased risk.
