Visual Tree Assessment
-
Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) is a visual tree safety inspection. This method is used to assess the risk of trees in terms of:
-
Stability : whether or not the tree will fall.
-
Susceptibility to breakage : whether or not the entire tree or parts of it break off.
-
-
The result of this VTA is a classification of the inspected tree into one of the following classes:
-
No Increased Risk (GVR) : These trees pose virtually no risk of causing damage or injury. This doesn't mean there's no risk: even trees without visible defects can fall or break.
-
Increased Risk (RR) : These trees pose a real risk of causing damage or injury. Depending on the circumstances, the following options may be considered:
-
Further research regarding specialized equipment. Based on this result, the trees are categorized as "Attention Tree," "Take Action," or "Cut."
-
Take measures to ensure that the tree no longer presents an increased risk.
