Crown lifting

When crown lifting, the lowest branches are removed up to the trunk (or frame branch) so that any nuisance caused by low-hanging branches is avoided in the future.

This pruning work is best carried out in the summer (approximately May – September), as the compartmentalisation & occlusion of the pruning wounds is then optimal.​
