Dynamic tree cabling
-
Dynamic crown anchoring is necessary for branches that show an increased risk of breaking off, such as horizontal top-heavy branches, diseased branches, etc.
-
The at-risk branch is anchored in the crown using dynamic ropes (so that the tree can still produce reaction wood) and wide strap loops (so that the tree is not damaged).
-
The purpose of a dynamic crown anchorage is:
-
To minimize the risk of a branch/trunk breaking off by absorbing tension peaks (e.g. during a storm).
-
Catching a branch/trunk from tearing off to minimize damage to the surrounding area.
