Crown reductions

  • The side branches on the outside of the crown are shortened to a living side branch.

  • Reducing the crown shape and size.

  • The transparency in the crown increases, resulting in more leaves and less dead wood in the inner crown. In addition, the branches become shorter and thicker, which reduces the risk of tearing.

  • This pruning work is best carried out in the summer (approximately May – September), as the compartmentalisation and occlusion of the pruning wounds is then optimal.
